Rudolfinum Gallery

The Rudolfinum Gallery situated together with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in the no-Renaissance Rudolfinum building focuses on contemporary Czech and international fine arts with occasional displays of older art.

The Rudolfinum building that was designed from the very beginning as a concert hall and a gallery, was founded in 1884 according to the designs of architects Josef Zítek and Josef Schulz who also participated on the building of the National Theater. The Rudolfinum Gallery started to operate in the reconstructed Rudolfinum in 1994. It has both generous exhibition halls of the big gallery and three halls of the small gallery at its disposal. The Rudolfinum Gallery is a state institution administered and financed by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. It does not have its own collections and focuses exclusively on exhibitions, for which it publishes catalogues and publications, organizes lectures, seminars and various accompanying events. At the Rudolfinum Gallery you can see works of art by famous artists, as well as young artists both in individual and collective exhibitions. A part of the gallery is the Modernista store, where you will find publications and objects related to the running exhibitions, as well as contemporary and historical Czech applied arts and design, such as glass, ceramics and jewelry.
