Although the word “chilli” appears in its name, there is no need to worry that it is added into every dish that this restaurant serves. In traditional Vietnamese fashion, it is served as a garnish on a separate small plate and it is up to you to add it to your meal. Authentic Vietnamese food arrived in Prague with the help of Public Chilli’s owner and head chef Natali Šnicerová, who served delicious Pho soup at her first restaurant, Red Hot Chilli. A world traveler who taught herself how to cook and combine flavors to her customers’ delight, she is the visionary behind this elegantly decorated restaurant. With its spacious and comfortable seating arrangement that can accommodate larger groups, visitors can enjoy lunch or dinner here any day of the week. The lunch specials feature flavorful soups and lighter meals, such as large spring rolls, or braised beef with noodles or a side salad. Most dishes can be made vegetarian upon request. The kimchi is homemade, as is the dough for the dumplings in their Dim Sum offerings. There is a wide selection of soups, from their famous Pho with either beef or chicken, or their delicious Ramen with mushrooms, soft-boiled egg, and green vegetables. The salad selection includes a tasty mango salad and a crispy chicken salad with a chili mayonnaise dip. For your main course, try one of their rice bowls, which are chock-full of high quality healthy ingredients. Their Bao sandwiches are inventively put together, and their noodle dishes include traditional Pad Thai as well as their signature Public Noodles with crispy spring rolls and salad. Though its central focus is on Vietnamese cuisine, Public Chilli likes to mix things up in a neo fusion way. Taste how beautifully it works with their Public Burger or Beef Carpaccio. Round off your meal with some Vietnamese coffee, a drink from their full bar, or a glass from the carefully selected wine list.
