Sale of Chateau Žinkovy Is New Chance for Monument to Blossom

05.06.2025

Svoboda & Williams has spent the last few weeks successfully concluding the sale of the romantic Chateau Žinkovy located in the southern corner of the Plzeň Region. This historic estate is beginning a new chapter in its illustrious 800-year history.

This cultural heritage monument with a usable area of 12,000 m2 spent several years in the real estate agency’s listings. “This is the average time that these types of historical buildings take to sell,” states Linda Martynková, senior property consultant at Svoboda & Williams. “In this case, the length of time it spent in our listings was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, when similar transactions came to a halt. Nevertheless, we conducted physical viewings with several dozen serious potential buyers,” adds Martynková.

A major advantage that helped speed up the sale was the decent condition that the property was in, as it was recently thoroughly reconstructed in order to serve as a recreational destination. Alongside the main building, Chateau Žinkovy includes several other structures that the new owner can enjoy, from an original 17th century mill or granary, through an administrative building, or 12 bungalows. What also makes the property truly exceptional is the almost 19 ha plot, including a maintained forest park, and the many natural sites and tourist destinations in the area.

The owner of the elegant Chateau Žinkovy is in good company—this unique historical property was previously held by the Lobkowitz and Harrach noble families, as well as by the Škodas, who were the founders of the popular automotive brand.
