Svoboda & Williams at Pulse Ostrava 2026

20.05.2026

In recent years, Ostrava has established itself as a national hub for architecture as both Czech and international stars are creating buildings in the city, extraordinary examples of which will be unveiled in the public space in the coming years. This year’s edition of the Pulse conference featured discussions on interdisciplinary collaboration, something that’s essential for the development of successful projects.

When it comes to real estate projects, a good design or a strong investor is no longer enough. The result must not only be entirely functional, but also combine esthetics, economics, and the specific needs of the location. At Pulse, speakers from various professions presented truly special projects that are shaping the future of our cities.

Together with architect Eva Jiřičná, Prokop Svoboda presented the Mrakodrap residential project. The residential high-rise, created through the renovation of a building from the 1960s, will grace Ostrava with a new skyscraper that, together with other planned tall buildings, will give the area a unique character.

“The growth of the new economy is having a significant impact on the regional real estate market, which is among the most dynamic in the Czech Republic. This is driven by a massive construction boom, which is evident almost everywhere in Ostrava. However, in addition to new-builds, it’s essential to focus on the sustainable conversion of existing buildings. Architect Jiřičná and her team are bringing to the region their vision on how to approach this topic in line with international trends,” said Prokop Svoboda, owner of Svoboda & Williams.

Svoboda & Williams is opening a new permanent branch in the region, and its portfolio will include a dozen of the units in Mrakodrap along with a wide range of other properties. “We will bring to the local market our many years of experience in selling premium real estate in the Czech Republic, as well as our connections to Christie’s International Real Estate,” stated Svoboda.
