The IDEA office building in Prague’s Smíchov neighborhood welcomed a prestigious new tenant. For the next several years, the Embassy of Japan in the Czech Republic will be in its temporary 951 m2 premises while its historic headquarters in the Turbovský Palace on Maltézské Square in the Lesser Town is being reconstructed.
The Japanese Embassy’s new spaces had to fulfill the highest security and technical requirements and specific demands for a floor plan and spatial design. “We found the perfect space on the highest floor of Smíchov’s Idea Office Building, which willingly accommodated all of the embassy’s requested adjustments,” states Agáta Drozdová, property consultant at Svoboda & Williams, who successfully negotiated the transaction.
The consular and visa divisions will also be part of the spacious, modern designed offices in Prague 5, just a few steps from the Anděl metro station, during the reconstruction of the Turbovský Palace. “We were greatly honored that the representatives of the Embassy of Japan in the Czech Republic entrusted our company with such an important task as finding a new seat and that we could ensure that the whole process went smoothly,” adds Jaroslav Waldhauser, head of commercial leasing at Svoboda & Williams.
