DOX Center for Contemporary Art
Since its foundation in 2008, the DOX Center for contemporary art, architecture, and design has established itself successfully as one of the most important centers of contemporary art in Prague.
DOX provides space for the confrontation of different approaches and tendencies, and aims to support the presentation of Czech artists abroad, and to provide space for dialogue between the Czech and international art scene. Its goal is not only to present works of art, but also to create a dynamic platform for common interaction and the development of strong interplay between the various artistic branches. Aside from this artistic mission, the DOX building itself is also very interesting; it is the creation of architect Ivan Kroupa who transformed two former factory buildings into the eight interconnected, yet still independent, exhibition areas that we see today. In the DOX Center for Contemporary Art you will also find the Dox By Qubus design shop, offering top Czech and international design goods including glass, porcelain and jewelry. Its space, named Showroom of the Year by Czech Grand Design also holds partial exhibitions of work by contemporary designers and students of design. For information about current and upcoming exhibitions, visit DOX's website.
