Troja Botanic Garden

The Troja Botanic Garden in the capital city of Prague consists of a large outdoor green space, the unique Fata Morgana greenhouse, the protected St. Claire Vineyard and a natural area with a nature trail that offers visitors, both young and old, many opportunities for learning more about the various types of flora found in and around the Czech Republic, as well as in other parts of the world.

The botanic garden's open-air exhibitions spread throughout an area of 25 hectares, and visitors especially enjoy the Ornamental Garden and Japanese Garden which is characterized by its evergreen bushes and trees, stones, cascades and a lake with red koi fish. On the Slope area, you will find fragments of original steppe plants which were abundant in Troja until the 1920s, as well as three iron sculptures by the artist Lukáš Rais. Be sure not to miss the Peony Meadow and the North American Desert with its frost-hard cacti. In the long Fata Morgana greenhouse you can admire vegetation from the tropical and subtropical climate zones. Moreover, your tour through the three sections of the greenhouse will be accompanied by the sounds of more than 80 animals, as well as by the sounds of thunderstorms and a tropical rain. Fata Morgana also hosts temporary exhibitions of beautiful butterflies.
