Kovařovic Villa

Located in Prague's New Town on the Vltava River and underneath the imposing rocks of Vyšehrad is the Cubist Kovařovic Villa.

This gorgeous structure by Czech architect Josef Chochol is a shining example of Cubist architecture in the Bohemian lands, inspired by the classic Cubist works of Braque and Picasso. This is a must see for lovers of architecture – not only is the villa a textbook example of Cubist architecture, but so are the colorful flowerbeds, the garden layout itself, the surrounding wrought iron fence, the steps to the villa, etc. The somewhat cut gem-like facade of the villa is beautiful at any time of the day as light beams literally bounce off of the cubic forms of the structure, creating interesting shadows and supplying you with gorgeous subject matter to photograph.
