Svoboda & Williams’ listings will soon be expanded by the apartments in the Mrakodrap residential project. The ingenious redesign of one of the tallest towers in this Moravian-Silesian city will result in a unique housing concept.
This exceptional project contains both Ostrava’s industrial past and its colorful future within it. Mrakodrap is the complete conversion of a building from the second half of the 1960s, which at the time was the most unique residential tall structure in Czechoslovakia. With its 68 meters in height, it will offer 111 units, all of which have been designed by Eva Jiřičná and Petr Vágner’s AI • DESIGN studio.
The architects have given Mrakodrap a new facade made of organic shapes enlivened by terraces and a vertical garden. “The project’s apartments offer impressive views of the city’s rooftops, the new town hall’s lookout tower, the picturesque silhouettes of the Beskydy Mountains, all while being surrounded by fresh greenery,” says Eva Grusová, senior property consultant at Svoboda & Williams. The building’s revitalization will include the landscaping of its immediate vicinity. The project will also come with a parking garage located right next door, ensuring plenty of parking spaces for residents.
“After the modern urban Nové Lauby complex, which filled in a gap in the historic city center, this is the second most exceptional residence in Ostrava that our company is listing,” adds Eva Grusová. The demand for premium housing in Ostrava continues its steady rise.
